Developments in Dermatology

Skin cancer treatments have changed a lot over the past five years. We have come out of two decades of unprecedented increase in skin cancers (largely related to lifelong sun exposure in our harsh solar climate) with improved understanding of the risk factors for skin cancer, better sun protection advice and improved sun behaviour.

While we are starting to see a reduction in skin cancers in younger generations, the effect of our misspent youth is still impacting those of us over 30.

The benefit of early detection of skin cancers is now very clear, resulting in better cure rates and less aggressive surgical treatments. If you are concerned about your risk of skin cancer and want to know what you can do to reduce this, we are happy to help you.
